  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  8. Roll the chilled dough into balls and roll them in powdered sugar.
  9. Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  10. Let cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add espresso powder to the dough.
  • Store leftover cookies in an airtight container.
