A classic Yule log, or Bûche De Noël, is a traditional holiday dessert that looks festive and is indulgently delicious.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, beat eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Carefully fold in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Pour the batter onto a prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the cake springs back when touched.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  8. Spread whipped cream over the cooled cake and roll it into a log shape.
