Crock Pot Birria Tacos

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 12 corn tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Season the beef with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the seasoned beef in the Crock Pot and add the beef broth.
  3. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  4. Remove the beef, shred it, and return it to the pot to soak up the juices.
  5. Warm the tortillas and fill each with shredded beef and cheese.
  6. Serve with cilantro and lime wedges.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add diced onions and jalapeños to the meat.
