Dark Chocolate Tart with Espresso Whipped Cream

A rich and delicious dark chocolate tart complemented by a creamy espresso whipped topping.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons espresso powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and salt.
  3. Add in the softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Press the mixture into a tart pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. In a saucepan, melt dark chocolate over low heat, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  7. Gradually mix in the melted chocolate.
  8. Pour the chocolate mixture into the baked crust and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  9. For the whipped cream, beat the heavy cream and espresso powder until soft peaks form.
  10. Top the cooled tart with espresso whipped cream before serving.

Notes

  • Serve chilled for the best flavor.
  • A dusting of cocoa powder on top adds a nice finish.
