  • 1 whole turkey
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels and rub the herb butter mixture all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  4. Place the lemon halves inside the cavity of the turkey.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour the chicken broth around it.
  6. Roast the turkey in the preheated oven, basting every 30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.

  • For extra flavor, consider brining the turkey the night before.
  • Ensure that you allow the turkey to come to room temperature before cooking for even cooking.
