  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast, and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter to dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until elastic, then let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough, spread butter, and sprinkle cinnamon sugar for filling.
  6. Roll tightly and cut into 12 rolls, place them in a greased pan.
  7. Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For the icing, mix cream cheese and icing sugar until smooth, drizzle over warm rolls.
