Gordon Ramsay Shrimp Risotto

  • 1 cup arborio rice
  • 4 cups chicken stock
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the chicken stock in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. In a separate pan, heat the olive oil and butter, then add the onion and garlic, sautéing until soft.
  3. Add the arborio rice to the pan, stirring for 2–3 minutes until the rice is translucent.
  4. Pour in the white wine, stirring until it has mostly evaporated.
  5. Gradually add the warm chicken stock, one ladle at a time, stirring frequently and allowing the liquid to absorb.
  6. Once the risotto is creamy and al dente, add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink.
  7. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add more Parmesan cheese.
  • Experiment with different seafood or vegetables for variations.
