Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add cold milk and mix until just combined.
  4. Knead the dough gently and shape it into a rectangle.
  5. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. Roll the dough out into a large rectangle, fold, and refrigerate again.
  7. Repeat the rolling and folding process two more times.
  8. Roll out the dough, cut triangles, and form croissants.
  9. Place on a baking sheet and allow to rise.
  10. Brush with egg wash and bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 15-20 minutes.
