Pumpkin Spice Crème Brûlée

A delightful blend of pumpkin and traditional crème brûlée, this dessert is perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine the cream, pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, and spices. Heat until just simmering.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and vanilla extract.
  4. Slowly pour the hot cream mixture into the yolks, whisking constantly.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into ramekins.
  6. Place the ramekins in a baking dish and fill the dish with water halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until set. Remove from water bath and cool.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  9. Before serving, sprinkle brown sugar on top and brûlée with a kitchen torch until caramelized.

Notes

  • Serve with whipped cream for an extra indulgence.
  • Use a torch for the best caramel crust.
