This Shakshuka recipe features a delightful twist of turkey bacon for an easy and delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 6 strips turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add onions and bell peppers to the skillet and sauté until soft.
  3. Stir in garlic, paprika, and cumin, cooking for another minute.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Make wells in the sauce and crack the eggs into the wells.
  6. Cover and cook until eggs are set to your liking.
  7. Top with crispy turkey bacon and cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to taste.
  • Serve with crusty bread for dipping.
